TOM NELSON is a man of many interests. An eager gardener, he is also an avid reader and history buff, wine bibber, occasional cook, and expert Caesar Salad maker. He volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, the Minnesota Science Museum, and AARP driver training. Tom considers himself a mediocre fisherman, an enthusiastic traveler, and a cartographer. He refers to himself as a retired peddler, having spent his previous life in Sales and Marketing at 3M. He has been a Master Gardener since 2006. Master Gardeners receive 52 hours of classroom experience taught by professors in specific areas of horticulture through the University of Minnesota Extension Service.
