Writer's Workshop

NEW! Our instructor, who is a practicing writer, has the ability to show anyone who has a story they want to tell the many, many tools and tips of the trade available to make their writing a more pleasurable process, with increased productivity and potential publishing power. During this (five to six week course) writer's workshop, students and teachers alike will CHOOSE and CONCEIVE ideas, CRAFT, CORRECT and revise them and so allow the writings to CONNECT with (self) or the targeted reading audience. We will read short passages from various literary genres, discuss, and position ourselves to write for most of the class's remainder, leaving just enough time to share our progress. Because of its workshop nature, this class may be repeated from session to session. Bring your own lined or unlined writing journal and anything that excites you to write! This might include a cherished photograph, a published work by another author (story, essay, poem, song lyric) or some of your own writings. TIMOTHY J. GEISINGER has generated and completed 400 poems and numerous lyric song home recordings in the past 24 years. He has performed his selected works at various local venues including churches, coffeehouses, and bookstores. He formed and facilitated WordPlay, a writer's group, in Fargo, N.D. in 1989, then again since 2004 at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis. Timothy has a B.A. in English Literature from Moorhead State University.
